God began to set a path for me in the 'helping field' when I obtained a position as a Food and Emergency Service Worker at Williamsburg James City County Community Action Agency, Inc. I started to attend William and Mary College (Studying Psychology) however marriage changed my direction. I later was able to receive an AAS in Human Services, Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and Master of Social Work.
I was employed at Eastern State Hospital for 15 years, Retired from The City of Newport News Department of Human Services (formerly Social Services) after 30 years as a Structural Family Therapist and Adult Protective Services Worker, and COVID resignation from Riverside Behavioral Health Center after 22 years as a PRN Therapist.
God directed my path to the Ministry of Counseling at Living Waters Christian Counseling Center where I received guidance from Elder Cornelia Browning-Moore, LCSW and Dr. Jeremiah Williams, PhD to be an Anger Management Group Facilitator for Court Ordered Individuals. Living Waters Christian Counseling Center, Harvest Restoration Center, and now The Healing Waters Counseling, Consultant, Wellness and Training Center has broadened my experience in the counseling and healing field through Conflict Resolution - Women, Domestic Violence, Couple Counseling, Family Therapy, and Anger Management.
God has given me a Life that has been a true Blessing with many challenges and successes. I'm a double Divorcee, the Mother of a Loving Son who brought to the Family an Awesome Daughter-in-Love and they gave me two Beautiful Intelligent Dynamic Grandchildren.
